Maria Callas(Μαρία Κάλλας)(Dec 2 1923 - Sep 16 1977) was a Greek dramatic coloratura soprano, the best-known opera singer of the post-World War II period. One of Callas' best performances. Maria Callas Lakme

Do you think one must be an exeptional opera singer to critise others ? I think not. Literary critics do not have to be writers...
Callas WAS NOT ideal. I don't know why you're trying to make a goddess out of her. Despite her talent, she made a lot of mistakes and some of her interpretations are weak. This is clearly stupid to think that some people cannot be criticised.
and how dare you forbid criticising her ? everyone has this right. some criticisms are less grounded than others, but there is no single person in the world that cannot be criticised. I think Callas would agree with me...
I don't think this is really a great role of Maria Callas. Its certainly an amazing performance for a soprano with such a large , but no particular fine, voice. She can do much, much better as a Verdinian or Puccini heroin, Bellini, Spontini, etc. I don't like her in french. Her Carmen also was a big mistake.
